baby owen

Baby Owen is really more like “Super Baby Owen.” He is quite seriously one of the strongest newborns I have even seen. Under two weeks old, and somehow he managed to roll from his tummy to his back! Now that is talent. I’m pretty sure he is a future Olympian. Everyone in attendance gasped with surprise when he showed us his trick. And, for one small moment I wished I was a videographer.

Besides being very strong for his age, he is also very sweet, handsome, and oh so calm. As you can tell, I was very impressed.

I was very excited to shoot for Mindy, Jonah and Owen for many reasons (one being that I love babies). Mindy is the sister of a friend of mine from high school (Jessica, of whom you may have seen many Facebook posts about her two adorable children in the past). She was also a classmate of my younger sister’s, since preschool! I’m so happy for Mindy and Jonah, and wish them all the joy in the world. Owen is the perfect addition to their family and it is completely apparent how much they absolutely adore him! Looking forward to catching up with them again in a few months. I know he’ll have grown so much by then (and likely he’ll be speaking in full sentences and running marathons)! Thanks guys, for inviting me into your home during this special time!

katie & pete: engaged

I am always so excited when I hear from one of my Jackson High School dancers from back in the day… I’ve known Katie since her high school years (my college years), when I was her dance team coach. I’ve always thought the best of her. Katie is smart, kind, fun and always hard working. Through the magic of Facebook we’ve kept in touch, and I was so happy when she contacted me about shooting her wedding!

Words cannot describe how happy I am for Katie and Pete. They are a true match. And, they are SO in love. See for yourself!

corrie & phil: married

Garrett and I are so happy for Corrie & Phil! They had a beautiful wedding day, filled with the love of family and friends. And, we were so glad to be a part of it.

I knew that I would love Corrie from her first email, when she told me how important photography was to her. It was awesome to find out when we first met face to face, that she was best friends with one of our brides from last year as well. During dinner we came up with the idea of shooting their engagement session at King Street Station where Corrie works (she LOVES her job, is that not the coolest thing ever?!). That session was BSP’s first ever published engagement. It will always hold a special place in my heart!

The wedding itself was gorgeous. Phil works for AA Party Rentals, so they had their pick of linens, plates and decor. They put together a beautiful design, and hosted the event at Rosehill Community Center in Mukilteo, WA. The view there is spectacular, and made the perfect back drop for the event. They hired an amazing DJ, Kyle Batterman of DJKB Events, who kept the party going all night long. This crowd loved to dance!

Corrie and Phil ended their reception by running through bubbles into a town car, and heading off to Mexico. I hear the two of them had an a amazing honeymoon, and they couldn’t deserve it more!

cindi & matt: engaged

Cindi & Matt are a pretty awesome couple. We met for the first time over pizza at Serious Pie. Garrett and I were instantly impressed by how intelligent and interesting these two were.

Cindi and Matt are enjoying the world of academia at UW currently, so they chose to have their engagement session partly on campus, and partly at nearby Gas Works Park. Both locations were absolutely perfect. It was a gorgeous day to take photos, and I had a ton of fun with them.

Very much looking forward to their wedding this coming summer!
