cindi & matt: engaged

Cindi & Matt are a pretty awesome couple. We met for the first time over pizza at Serious Pie. Garrett and I were instantly impressed by how intelligent and interesting these two were.

Cindi and Matt are enjoying the world of academia at UW currently, so they chose to have their engagement session partly on campus, and partly at nearby Gas Works Park. Both locations were absolutely perfect. It was a gorgeous day to take photos, and I had a ton of fun with them.

Very much looking forward to their wedding this coming summer!

trilogy showcase 2012

Every once in awhile I get to do a shoot just for myself… Something I want to do, just because I love it. Shooting for Trilogy Dance Team is just one of those things.

As you can see, the dancers are amazingly talented. Their hard work and dedication blows my mind, as does the creativity and skill of their instructors and choreographers.

The following photos are just a glimpse of their dress rehearsal for their team show this past month. For more info about Trilogy Dance Team and Turning Pointe Dance Centre click here or find them on Facebook.

jenny & dan: engaged

It’s not often that I get to go back to the place where he asked her if she would be his wife. So, when I do get to go, I know it is something very special.

Dan asked Jenny to marry him at what looks to be the edge of the world. It is simply breathtaking.

Jenny and Dan’s engagement session was the best. I couldn’t have picked a better couple to spend the day with. We rode ferries, hiked to light houses, made random stops along the side of the road, laughed a lot, ate mozzarella sticks, and captured some beautiful images (it would be hard not to, just look at them).

Their love for each other is apparent in every glance. I especially love the way they make each other laugh. It is so endearing to see. The two of them put a lot of thought into their engagement session, and that really meant a lot to me. There is simply nothing better than photographing a couple who loves photography, knowing  they will really cherish the work put into it. It’s the best!

I cannot wait for Jenny & Dan’s wedding this coming fall!

kristin & son + 1!

I am so excited for Kristin and Son! They are about to have a baby (any minute now), and they’ve kept the gender a surprise! I can not wait to hear if they are having a baby boy or baby girl. Either way, I know that it will be the most adorable baby, and that it will be showered with love. Just look at how these two look at each other!

Kristin and I go way back… so far in fact, that I can’t quite remember what age we were when we met. My guess is that I was in 3rd grade, and she was in 2nd. I do remember that we met at the school bus stop, that we used to do cartwheels in her living room, and that we always had a lot of fun together. When we got together for the shoot she reminded me that I was the one who had introduced her to the teen pop-star/mall-sensation Tiffany. Hilarious!

It was so great to see Kristin after so many years, and to meet her husband Son. There’s nothing better than seeing an old friend looking beautiful and happy years later. It was definitely a great way to spend my afternoon!
